Two Rock Nerds...

AL: So what about BOC now? The late 80s saw them spew out crappola like Club Ninja and Imaginos. Then the 10 year hiatus, and then back again with crappola like Heaven Forbid. I haven't even gotten the new one yet. Has the greatest band on earth (next to Rush) lost whatever it is they once had? Did their contract with the devil run out? (And speaking of Rush, my god was their last album crap or what?? What's wrong with my favorite bands these days???)

JF: I think you may be right about their contract with the devil expiring. The same thing seems to have happened with other great bands like The Rolling Stones and Van Halen. But at least they still play all their old songs when you go see them now. I think bands like that should stop putting out new material and concentrate on the Live Show.

Cheap Trick recently did a series of shows commemorating the re-release of their first 4 albums where each night they just played an entire album live in order. It was awesome!!! I would pay big money to see something like: "Blue Oyster Cult presents-'Fire of Unknown Origin'-Live!" But I guess they still think they have something to offer artistically. I'm willing to cut them some slack as long as they still kick out a killer live version of Transmaiacon MC every once in a while...

KITTENPANTS: (At this point I stopped the conversation).  Thanks to Adam and John for letting me "listen in" on the nerdiest rock chat ever. I loved it.
