Corn Mo: It's All Part
of His Rock and Roll Fantasy

True to his contradictory nature, Corn Mo is his own biggest fan (often mentioning “Corn Mo” among his other favorite bands during songs like “Lollipop” and “Maybe Tonight”) and his own worst enemy—releasing beautifully orchestrated songs with ingenious lyrics only to sound like they have been recorded somewhere between Baby Jessica’s well and the back of a moving van. As powerful as his voice is onstage, the recordings seem muffled and don’t give justice to a Corn Mo performance.

But Chris Weber, who is releasing Corn Mo’s latest effort on his label, Guns a’ Blazin, is hoping to remedy that with the latest release, “The Magic is You”.

“One of the main reasons I started the label was to put out a CD that looked and sounded as good as Corn Mo does on stage; a record that will showcase his voice, his lyrics, and his music in a way that you can play for a friend—someone who has never seen a Corn Mo show—and have that friend say, “Oh my God! Who IS this guy?!”

Of course, the beauty that is “Corn Mo live” is impossible to replicate, but I believe this CD comes pretty close.”

It’s true. Fans and newcomers alike will relish the new album which includes favorites like “Busey Boy” (about “being mistaken for the great Gary Busey”), as well as epic rock ballads like “Going to LA” and the endearing silliness of “Bananas”. The CD features a 32-page booklet full of handwritten lyrics and stories, and one can purchase it individually, or with an autographed poster on the Guns A Blazin’ website (gunsablazin.com).

Corn Mo once described himself as a “non-rock star sitting in the rock star section.” But truly, he is a star if ever there was one. There will come a day when Dave Holmes’ proclamation becomes truth, and the whole world will fall in line, led to musical ecstasy by the very best friend Rock and Roll ever had.
