Power to the people?
Things sure have changed since the 60s. Back then, people of color couldn't sit at a lunch counter or the front of a bus. Women didn't have legal control over their own reproductive choices. Public schools were segregated, draft cards incinerated, and long hair intolerated. Through a decade of turmoil, protest, tragedy and triumph, this country forged ahead with a new understanding of equal rights and the liberties and protections we are all afforded by our constitution.

It's so nice to see that the boundaries are still being pushed--that people in crisis will take a stand and refuse to back down from the threat of "the man". Never has there been a more clear example of this true American spirit than in this Burger King 911 call.

God bless us, everyone.
